Ricky Allen Christian

Ricky Allen Christian passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021, at the age of 63. Comforting him on the journey home was his daughter Michelle holding his hand and with prayer by phone with his cousin Eugene Phillips.

He was a soft-spoken man with simple ways and worked very hard his entire life.  He was also a master carpenter and excelled at every job. Ricky’s craftsmanship and attention to detail was undeniably the best. Ricky’s early work history was building garages for Mullins Construction; he then mastered his carpenter skills by joining the Carpenters Union at Local 104 in Dayton, Ohio.  When he moved to Virginia, he transferred to Local 134. Ricky medically retired in 2017. He enjoyed working puzzles, listening to blue grass and old country music, loved a good fire in his fire pit, and building things he had visualized.

Born August 20, 1957, in Stickleyville, Virginia to Elmo Drewcella Hall and Jessee Christian, as the youngest of three children. Ricky leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory:   Siblings:  Nina (Bo) Needham, Susie (Joe) Jones, Dorothy Hall, Bobby Hall, “His Bro” Danny (Rita) Christian, Jessie Lee (“His Bud” Benny-Ray) Carver, Nattie Young, and Jason (Casey) Christian. Daughters:  Andrea Michelle (Kevin) Hobbs and Autumn Robinette Grand-children: Riley McKenzie Christian, Kealy Candyn Hobbs, Blaise Josiah Christian Hobbs, Richard Allen Barnes, Paislee Karaline Rayne Hobbs, Kennedie-Mae Elizabeth Hobbs, Richard Tommy Robinette, and Chandlor Reed Johnson. Great Grand-children:  Blake Cole Mullins, Grayson Layne Mullins, Julian Anthony Johnson, and Brycen Ray Johnson. Good Friends and Neighbors: Susie and Bo Ray, Ted Kelly, and Scott Short. Also many Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held in his honor at 6p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021, (His 64th Birthday). It will be at his home in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
