Ruth Hendricks Bledsoe, 84, of Jonesville, passed away May 25, 2021 in Martinsville, Virginia. Ruth was from St. Charles, Virginia. She was born on August 14, 1936 to Curtis and Jessie Hendricks. Ruth attended school in St. Charles. She later married, had 3 children and enjoyed life as a homemaker. Ruth was a dedicated member of the Pennington Gap Church of God, where she served as clerk for many years. Ruth set Christ's example to others all the days of her life, and was an inspiration to countless members of the community, her family, and friends. Children especially loved her, as she cared for them like they were her own. Ruth loved to cook. She collected recipes over the years and looked forward to sharing her delicious meals with those she loved. She is especially known for her scrumptious handcrafted egg rolls and homemade spaghetti with meat sauce as well as her homemade biscuits and gravy, and numerous other dishes. Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband Dallas Keith Bledsoe; her parents Curtis and Jessie; two brothers Harold and Herman Hendricks; two sisters Lois Hendricks and Maggie Britt; and a son-in-law Doyle Wayne Spencer. \par Ruth is survived by two brothers John D. Hendricks and Hearlie Hendricks, a son Thomas Bledsoe (Susie), two daughters Linda Spencer and Jackie Hathaway (Philip), nine grandchildren Jennifer Graham, Lee Lewis, Ryan Bledsoe, Jake Hathaway, Brittney Palmer, Brandie Hathaway, Stephanie Sprague, Johnie Spencer, Chris Spencer, and eleven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Province Funeral Home, Pennington Gap, Virginia at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cooney Family Cemetery, Jonesville, Virginia
