CARROLL, Vivian L. - Of Swartz Creek, age 87, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 12pm Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Jerome Taylor officiating.
Burial in Bethel Cemetery in Pennington Gap, Virginia will be announced later.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Vivian was born in St. Charles, Virginia on May 12, 1935, the daughter of the late Herman and Mabel (Osbourne) Hale. On October 1, 1954, she married Joseph Lee Carroll in Grand Blanc, Michigan and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2000. Vivian loved being active, especially walking and yard work. She liked her independence. Vivian was a loving caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed with General Motors for 30 years and loved classic car shows and her Olds 442.
Surviving are children, Linda (Donny) McDaniel, Mickey Carroll, and Brenda (Carl) Flanary;
grandchildren, Matthew (Holly) McDaniel, Michelle (Dennis) Price, Melissa McDaniel, Joshua (Jennifer) McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, Julia McDaniel, Joseph (Naomi) McDaniel, Joshua (Sheena) Flanary;
great-grandchildren, Evan, Madison, Bryson, Duston, Andrea, Carmin, James and Lucas;
sister, Patricia Jean Farmer;
brother, Darry (Sharon) Gibbs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carroll in 2000 and siblings Elmer, Wanda, Phyllis and Larry.
