Willard James Gibson

Willard James Gibson age 77 of Jonesville, VA was born August 13, 1945 in Pennington Gap, VA and passed away April 19, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Gibson, mother and father Willie and Grover Gibson, one grandson B.J. Couch, two great-grandbaby’s Baby Angel Jackson, Carter Dre Jackson, and his siblings Kemp Gibson, Betty Garrett, Martha Chandler and Ronnie Gibson.

Willard is survived by his daughter Donna Jackson and fiancé, Clint Catron of the home, son Steven Gibson of Jonesville, VA, grandchildren Rachel Donovan, Vanessa Gibson, Jesse Gibson, Dana Ridings and Cody, Derick Jackson and Shania, Dylon Jackson and Madison Jackson, great-grandchildren Aubree Gibson, Raylin Gibson, McKinley Collins, Jaylen Gibson, Peyton Jackson, Lainey Jackson, Savannah Ridings and Charlie Ridings, brother Jimmy Gibson, cousin and best friend Jack Garrett, his fur companion Charlie (Great Dane), lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Willard was an avid Colts fan, “Not the Steelers”.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Monday, April 24, 2023 at  Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM Monday with Aaron Stapleton officiating.
