William "Oscar" Lewis

William "Oscar" Lewis age 91 of Jonesville, VA was born on Saturday, October 22, 1927 in Hubbard Springs, VA and passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He attended Beech Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed farming, fishing and he worked for the CSX railroad for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Patton and Pairlee Lewis, brothers J.C. and Carl Lewis and one grandson Ray Lewis. William is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Virginia Lewis of the home; sons Danny Lewis and wife Sis; Ray Lewis and wife Mary; Gene Lewis (Sherri); Darrell Lewis (Tracy); grandchildren Danny Lewis Jr.; Chris Lewis and wife Megan; Jamie Lewis; Harmony Rogers and husband Kevin; Steven Lewis and wife Jessica; Sarah Standifer and husband James; Lance Lewis and wife Domonique; and Dakota Lewis; step-grandchildren Stephen Curry, Eric Curry and Allen Curry; great-grandchildren Blake Cassie, Piper, Alyssa, Reia, Luke, Amara, Braelyn, Matthew, Madison, Erica, and Meredith . He also leaves behind his brother Ray Lewis and wife Mary; sister Kathleen Lewis Elbeck and many nieces, nephews and numerous family and friends. A special thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses at Indian Path Hospital for their care.

Visitation for Oscar will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Province Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA.
