Sarah Gibbs

Sarah Gibbs age 72 of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Lee County, VA on Monday, March 29, 1943 and passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Lee Health and Rehab Center. She had formerly worked at the Donkenny sewing factory in Dryden and attended the Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband Herman Hendricks and second husband Ira Gibbs, six brothers and three sisters. Sarah is survived by a step-son Darry Gibbs and wife, Sharon of Pennington Gap, VA, step-daughters Patricia Jene Farmer of Michigan, Vivian Carroll of Michigan, Phyllis Ledford of Pennington Gap, VA, one brother Melvin "Pat" Garrett of Pennington Gap, VA and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Bruce Brewer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Friday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, Va. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Saturday to go to the cemetery.
