Elmer "Bud" Haynes

Elmer “Bud” Haynes, 76, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at his home in Hickory Flats. He was the youngest of ten children born to Isom and Oma Haynes. He and his wife Carol had been married for 13 years. He attended the First Baptist Church of Woodway.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Pete, John, Robert, Mamieque, Hester, Virginia and Janet.
He is survived by his wife Carol Haynes; two siblings Ann Haynes (Harry) and Hazel Holbrook; six children, Scott Haynes, John Haynes (Sandy), Tammy Taylor (Kelly), Susan McElvy (Chris), Leslie Huff (Scott), and Tyler Haynes; two step-children, Lena McCall (Chris) and Freddy Fields (Sindy); nine grandchildren, Seth Haynes (Erin), Callie Pennington (Danny), Lauren Taylor, K.D. Taylor, Ellen Taylor, Mason McElvy, Jackson McElvy, Matthew Huff, and Abigail Huff; four step-grandchildren, Josh McCall, Maggie McCall, Ethan Fields and Emily Fields; four great-grandchildren, Aeva, Owen, Reece and Norah; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family friends. He is also survived by his constant companion Roxie, his dog.
Bud was a lifelong resident of Lee County. He will be forever remembered for his hard work ethic and great storytelling. He was one of the finest carpenters in the area, a friend to all, and a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Above all, he was a child of God.
Graveside services will be held at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway on Thursday, December 1, at 11:00 A.M. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 A.M. Thursday for the service.
