Kathleen "Katie" Smith Brooks

Kathleen “Katie” Smith Brooks age 70 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Tuesday, August 13, 1946 in Baltimore, MD and passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.  She had been a nurse and attended the Smith’s Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband Cecil Smith, second husband Kevin Brooks, daughter Melissa Faulkner, infant twins, parents John and Elizabeth Ireland, one brother Michael Ireland and one sister Angela Duvall. She is survived by her sons Michael Smith of Pennington Gap, VA and Dylan Brooks of Charlotte, NC, two daughters Rosetta Hight and husband, Tim of Bedford, VA and Kimberly Henry and husband, Robert of Polk City, FL, grandchildren Latisha Hobbs, Jessica Farris and husband, Terry, Justin Seiber, Courtney and Candice Smith, Michael and Tyler Faulkner, Junior and Elissa Zimmerman, Jaxon McCoy, Walker, Joshua, Remi and Katelyn Henry, great-grandchildren Jayden Pennington,  Eli and Emilee Cox, and great-grand baby Farris, two brothers Donald Ireland and wife, Ginny and John Ireland and wife, Joyce all of Maryland, three sisters Lynn Brittingham, Jackie Hatfield, Ann and husband, John Walton all of Maryland, and sister-in-law Carol Ireland of Tampa, FL.
 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Darrell Hensley officiating. Visitation will 1:00 PM Saturday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Cecil-Fry Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA. Memorials and contributions can be sent to the family by visiting www.provincefuneralhome.com Province Funeral Home of 42098 E.
